I saw the original (pre-Jack Bruce) trio at the old Ungano’s on West 70th Street in the fall of 1969. I can tell you that if all the original Jazz-Rock bands, this was unequivocally the best. Unapologetically aggressive, loud, killer chops serving completely musical ends. Only the Hendrix Band of Gypsies could ride with them at the time.
There it is! Ok, at the risk of entering the land of confusion....is this part of the French-language TW documentary that included Lifetime footage? Do you know the doc I mean Bill? Sorry for the lack of clarity; this was a 30-minute (or so) documentary that featured interviews with Tony (where he speaks about being married, among other things), and some incredible Ego-era Lifetime footage, at what appeared to be a club, playing Mystic Knights Of The Sea and There Comes A Time. Any idea what I'm talking about?
I think it is but not 100%. I know the interview and footage and have covered it in my draft. Marriage is also covered but objective facts only. It is not a personal biography; focus on music career only.

Yes!!! This is exactly what I’ve heard from Rob Schwimmer, Jeff Williams, and others…they were THE band…thank you Chuck!
I have a probable date for the Beat Club appearance of October 22, 1970, the day before the band’s gig at Essen Blues & Pop Festival.
Incredible. Do you have/are you assembling known and confirmed gigs by Lifetime on their fall 1970 tour?
WOW!
My thoughts exactly Dave!!! Thanks for reading!!
Oh, and thanks for your breakdown of this fabulous video footage.
Of course! "Just doing my job"....thanks for reading Bill!
