Love this, thanks! As it happens I'm re-listening to these albums for a radio show I'm assembling, very glad to have your notes.

One thing about the other Steve Coleman & Bill Frisell recording: I don't own it, but the track names are all initials and I'm guessing they represent the musicians on any given track. And there are no tracks that list both SC and BF in the title so... "Oshumare" is the only known recorded meeting!

Yikes, just realized that my LP copy must have the labels reversed! Your rundown makes me realize that what I thought was side B was actually side A!

Daaaamn, you really knocked it out of the park with this one! I saw that Hart/Copland/Peacock trio in St. Louis...I think it was in 1991? Deep Water. And the links to Ethan's beautiful posts about Billy were utterly engaging and a joy to read...

Thanks, AGAIN, Vinnie!

P.S. I vaguely remember a gig from the early 80's...maybe '81 or '82...at a club called the One Step Down in Washington, DC that I think was Billy, Clint Houston, and Joanne Brackeen; it was definitely Houston and Brackeen(straight fire!!!). Not sure if I'm mixing up that gig with another one at the same club in the same time period that Billy played on, cuz I know that I saw him live in that time frame at that location. Of course he was stellar and was having a ball. He was also a nice, accessible dude; no shade-throwing and dark vibe; he'd converse with folks. I am so glad that he is healthy and continuing to rove the planet, conjuring beauty!
